Five passenger ferries delivered to the Government of West Bengal for inland waterway transport. Completed via WBIDCL and built at the Titagarh Yard, North Kolkata, the programme was delivered in 2023-24.
West Bengal’s rivers and waterways play an important role in everyday passenger connectivity, linking communities across the state. To support organised and reliable inland waterway transport, the Government of West Bengal commissioned five 100-passenger ferries. Designed for short-distance and frequent journeys, the vessels are suited to the needs of Bengal’s river routes.
TNSL built and delivered all five ferries from its CSPL Yard, completing the programme in 2023–24. The project reflects the yard’s ability to undertake passenger vessel programmes alongside its work in naval and research vessels.
All five ferries were handed over to WBTIDCL for deployment across West Bengal’s inland waterways, supporting everyday passenger movement across the state.
